Problem Statement

A client sought assistance in maintaining a comprehensive database of search consultants across the USA by tracking executive movements and scraping job postings from their websites. To expand global coverage, the client aimed to aggregate job postings from top job search engine sites for the UK and Europe. The challenge lies in efficiently discovering and aggregating job postings while ensuring data accuracy and reliability.

Our solution

  • Discovering Top Job Search Engine Websites: Thorough research identified up to the top three job search engine websites per country for the UK and Europe. The focus was on reputable platforms with high traffic and extensive job listings.
  • Aggregating Job Postings for Director and Above Positions: Targeting positions at the Director level and above, job postings were aggregated from selected job search engine websites. Information such as posting company name, job title/designation, posting date, expiry date, job description, job location (city, state, country), and other relevant details were collected.
  • Weekly Aggregation and Quality Check: All available information on job postings from the selected websites was aggregated weekly. The data was formatted into CSV, Excel, or XML files and delivered through FTP. This ensured timely access to accurate data.
  • Setting Up and Initial Data Build: A phased approach was implemented over a one-year term. For every batch of 10 countries, setup and initial data build took 4-6 weeks. Weekly refresh cycles monitored job postings, ensuring new posts were captured, and existing posts were updated or removed.
  • Translation and Quality Assurance: Non-English data was translated to English using the Google API to maintain consistency. A 60% – 70% accuracy rate for translation was expected for non-English sites, following industry standards.
